November 1999

Well,
many of you have now been with me for a year. Hard to believe it's been
that long. So this month we're getting a little more difficult. You
probably remember the Corn and Autumn Leaf from last year and the Daisy
from last spring. Now we're putting them all together in a Fall Border.
Use your imagination and do this border down the edge of a page or as a
corner treatment. This border would look great with those adorable pumpkin
patch photos of your kids, etc. The directions are listed in order of
execution. For example, do the flowers first then the leaves, etc. 1.2 and
0.5 are the two tips on the Zig Writer pen and BR stands for Brush. This
border may look complicated but remember - it's just a bunch of Simple
Steps. Before long you'll be saying, "Wow, I did this!"
Where
was the October Article? I really apologize to everyone who came to the
site and didn't find an article in October. My husband and I sold our
house in Riverside, CA and moved to Olympia, WA. But our buyers didn't
qualify for the loan so I had to go back to CA to sell the house again. It
was six long weeks that Justine (almost two) and I were away from my
husband, Cory, but we're back and I came with check in hand. I've finally
unpacked my art room, so you can look forward to many months (or maybe
years) of my lighting your artistic fires.
Update on the Book Publication: I am working really hard on the book
and so excited that it's scheduled release date is February 2000. I think
you'll feel it was worth the wait. I'll do my best to keep you updated.
Thanks so much to all of you who have emailed me with your kind words. It
is truly appreciated. It's so wonderful to hear that other people are
getting excited about Simple Steps.
Take Care,
Anamarie Seidel

Welcome to the easy art section of
Scrapbooking.com. My name
is Anamarie Seidel and I was recently asked, "What do you do that makes you feel
ALIVE?" My response - "Scrapbooking and teaching it to others."
I must be hooked. I am a full-time mom and have three tables exclusive to
scrapbooking.
If you can doodle circles, squares and triangles while you're chatting on the phone, you
can do this simple art to enhance your scrapbooks. My philosophy is that we all used
to use crayons and we got really good at it. There is a hidden artist in all of us, maybe
not a Monet or Van Gogh, but certainly enough talent to make your pages a little more
personal.
I use Zig Twin Tip Markers for all the art that you will see every month. I prefer them
because of the versatility as well as permanence. The Zig Brush tip is my favorite
because it is more flexible than other brands. Feel free to use other pens but you may not
achieve quite the same look. Just remember -- It's ok to do artwork with
water based pens, but do ALL of your journaling with permanent pens so your
descendants can
read your names 200 years from now. I have given you the color that I used but
please feel free to experiment with other colors!
All of my art is excerpted from the two booklets due to be published by EK Success Ltd.
sometime in 1999. They will have wonderful ideas for combining these simple pieces
into many creative designs. Be sure to ask for these booklets at your local
Scrapbooking store! Until then, see you here each month for new art samples!
Happy Scrapin'!
