September 1999

Welcome to the monthly Punch Art section of scrapbooking.com.  My name is Jenna Beegle, known to some as Scrap Lady, and I'll be responsible for most of the ideas you'll be seeing here each month.  Each month, we'll change the theme of the punch art so there's always something new.  But don't worry - the old ideas will always be available in the archive.  If you use any of these ideas in your own books, we'd love to see your pages.  Submit them and Jennia will get them up here to share with the other scrappers.  And we'll also have other punch artists contributing their ideas.  I think this is going to be a lot of fun!

Note from Jennia Hart: Serious punch artists will want to take a look at Jenna's Way Cool Punch Machine

Remember, if you use any of these ideas, or if you have any ideas you'd like to share, send them in. We'd love to show them off.

This month, we're going to talk about using your punches with your titles.  This is just a sample to whet your appetite. Keep going and then try some of your own. Then be sure to send them in to share with other readers! Also, you could use these in an ABC book. Or different ones that reflect  a person on their name. I used a Pebbles template for all of these letters.

I simply outlined my letter, added my balloons  and drew the strings in so that they interacted with the balloons.  Wrapping the strings gives it more movement and interest. This little teddy bear is punched from Paper  Adventures Velveteen paper. The texture works well with the star paper.  Very cuddly! It's never too early to start planning! Or too soon to catch up on your backlog! The colors in these papers are muted for a more mellow Christmas feel.
I love flower punches and probably have them all.  In this case, I outlined the letters and added very simple flowers to the inside. The colors work nicely with the patterned paper of the flower.  Eek! A black cat crossing our path - or at least the H. Combining patterns and themes makes a one of a kind look. What could be nicer and brighter than bright  patterned paper and a yellow sun. No cloudy days on that beach!

One of my favorite things about having a daughter  is having tea parties. The style of the paper is pretty but not too  frilly.
