Welcome to the monthly Punch Art section of
Scrapbooking.com. My name is Jenna Beegle, known to some as Scrap Lady, and I'll be responsible
for most of the ideas you'll be seeing here each month. Each month, we'll change the
theme of the punch art so there's always something new. But don't worry - the old
ideas will always be available in the archive. If you use any of these ideas in
your own books, we'd love to see your pages. Submit them and Jennia will get them up
here to share with the other scrappers. And we'll also have other punch artists
contributing their ideas. I think this is going to be a lot of fun!
|
Remember, if you use any of these ideas, or if you have any ideas you'd like to
share, send them in. We'd love to show them off. Take
a look at the great Pokemon punch art by reader Virginia Cook.
Welcome to November! I got such an overwhelming
response to the previous Pokemon punch art, I thought there might be a need for
a little more. Here you go!
And thanks to everyone who let me know how much
they and their kids enjoyed the Pokemon designs. I do this to share, so it means
a lot to know you like it.
Also, for those of you who are interested, I am
also writing for another site, the Scrapbook SuperStore. I write news and gossip
along with ideas on how to use the new products that are always coming. When you
read it along with The Scrapbooking Idea Network, you'll be really well
informed!
Let's get to the Pokemon!

WE HAVE TANGELA.JPG Tangela has been one of my favorites - he looks like
my son in the morning! I made his body from a 1" circle, then layered
super jumbo spirals all over him. You could also do it with the small
spiral, but this has a lot of impact. Don't forget to draw in those eyes!
his feet are small ovals, with legs I cut freehand. |
HERE
WE HAVE GLOOM.JPG - Gloom is another of my favorite characters. His body
is a 1" circle. Then I layered a large sun which I trimmed on his
head and then added 4 5/8" circles, with a rust colored 5/16"
circle in the center of them. The white spots on the braown circles make
it more alive. His arms and legs are freehand, but his feet are small
ovals. Outlining his expressions in black also makes them stand out. |
HERE
WE HAVE MAGNEMITE.JPG Magnemite is a snap with punches. The body is a
1" circle, with a 1/4" circle in the center. The two smaller
screw heads at the bottom are 1/8" circles. The magnets on with side
are large bell punches that have been trimmed out in the center. The screw
on top is cut freehand, but you don't notice uneven spots wen the details
are drawn in on it. In fact, outlining each piece in black makes the whole
thing more accurate. |

WE HAVE ELECTRODE.JPG and VOLTORB.JPG - These two are the simplest Pokemon
to make. Take 1 red circle (I used 1") and 2 white circles. Cut the
red on on a slight curve just over halfway down the length. That makes the
top half of one creature and the bottom half of the other instantly. Just
attach them to the white circles. What makes these seem so much rounder is
the white highlights on the red. It gives it more depth. The expressions
on these guys have a lot of personality, so be sure to consult your
resident Pokemon trainer for advice. |
HERE
WE HAVE CHANSEY.JPG - Chansey gave me an excuse to use the super jumbo
heart I had to have! His body is that eart, with the rounded end smoothed
off. His ears are the petals of a medium daisy punch. The pocket with the
egg is made from a small egg punch - a pink egg trimmed in half with the
cream one behind it. His arms are drawn on and his feet are small
ovals. |
HERE
WE HAVE EXEGGCUTE.JOG. I made this guy from small egg punches. Had I
though it through, I would have made him with a large balloon with the end
trimmed to an oval. Just layer these guys together, draw on nasty
expressions and you have Exeggcute. Don't forget the yolk showing from the
broken egg! |
