Example Request Letter

"Dear Aunt Mary Ann,

I am writing to you because I am creating a tribute album for my father, Joe Smith. As his sister, I am sure that you have photos, stories and facts that will enhance this album. I want to give this album to Dad on January 31, 1999, when he retires from the Fire Department. Can you please forward any copies of photos to me by August 31, 1998 so that I can begin this project. The stories can be taped on a cassette or video or I can call you for an interview at a convenient time, please let me know what is best for you. Thank you for your help in this project, I know that Dad will appreciate it.
