Jennia's Creative Lettering Hints

1. Buy a book and really read it. Use the techniques they recommend, like holding the pen close to the tip. I like The ABC's of Creative Lettering and LMNOP: More Creative Lettering both by Lindsay Ostrom.

2. Carry a "scrapbooking pen" in your purse and use it for everything. It doesn't cost that much more than the nice pens (Uniball, etc.) I use to buy AND I can practice anywhere.

3. PRACTICE- every time you write, practice your lettering. Many of us had nice handwriting at some point in time and have "lost" it because we write too fast. Every "To- Do List" that you write, every check that you write, every note to your children's teacher practice writing slowly, neatly and in the style that you want to use in your scrapbooks.
